I'm probably going to hell.

(54,528 posts)Republicans would have taken Biden literally, having been forbidden at an early age to have any sense of humor at all.

First way I can tell when I'm talking to someone new it to open with a mild joke. If it's understood as a joke, then they're OK.

(15,488 posts)He's had to live with his poor-little-rich-boy persona inside that huge hulk for 77 years and never had an ounce of sympathy. Perhaps if his mother had cuddled him (hah!) or daddy took him fishing (hah-hah).

One is patience and calculated, the other easily triggered. I assume both mens' personality traits can sometimes be useful in different situations, but who would you rather be dealing with our national security, human rights and protecting our freedoms?
For the record, both videos made me laugh a bit.

I see Biden's as much more skillful, even, as you suggest, reflective of an inner goodness. There's just nothing Biden can't do. He was also awesome at the Correspondents Dinner.
Trump's is more sardonic and canned. He's got a lot of schtick instinct. This ain't his first Western-themed animal exploitation show.
W.C. Fields (supposedly) had the line, "Anyone who hates children and animals can't be all bad."
There was also a line, "I love crying children, because then someone comes and takes them away." I can't remember whose line it is. ChatGPT suggests it might be the brilliant Phyllis Diller, but I'm not sure.

Real differences between REPUBLICANS & DEMOCRATS
Between hardline MAGA and moderate Republicans
Between their bills historys spending crimes words intentions
compare PEOPLE PARTY STATES even COUNTRIES
(eg in Australia there's less guns so less mass murders,
more safety nets so less crime & fears (less broken)
more trust so easier elections pandemics pregnancies
more public infrastructure so less costs & tolls
more public schools so real choice & no charter school closures
USE statistics graphs maps images slogans
AT ALL Community levels where extremists & maga do damage
SHOW the likely possible differences between a
US child's MAGA FUTURE & a US child's DEMOCRAT FUTURE
I'm an older Australian so I can only contribute from the side but in
heart and mind, I am hoping your Democracy can win 2024 as the
World, my family, needs a healthy democracy in USA.
Spent a year in your country, non stop driving and full of
awe at your amazing natural wonders. My family live well in Australia. I was single parent, lower income and now my children have good income & growing profitable businesses (one with multiple staff). One did further education and one did not (the one that now has several staff). Thats what good Governance can achieve. Thats what care of all diverse citizens can achieve. Political parties that compete in a reasonably healthy way and now a good Public/Worker Priority Party (Labor Party) has won at Federal level and majority State level. My daughter's business grew right through 1st year of pandemic because we had a State border lockdown until a vaccine was available. We moved un-masked freely in that first year, we trusted science, trusted leaders and about 90-95% used all protections as they were needed and as they became available.
Spread the Compare/Contrast word.
