Ceiling debt deal was the second time recently that I have heard him clearing his throat and coughing. Also, he just looked tired.
I take this as a sign that he worked really hard on the Debt Ceiling problem since returning. Now, it is in the hands of Congress. If they don't finish the agreement, he will invoke the 14thA. So, they better think about it.
I think Joe has earned a rest. Everyone does. People 50 years younger take brief rests. So, I want him to kick back with his cat on his head, his dog at his feet, and his wife giving him neck massages. Not in that order. Just the idea that he could watch a romantic movie, eat some fine food, and get plenty of rest. He's earned it.
I'm awfully proud of Biden. He behaves like an adult. I don't pretend to understand all the ramifications, but I think he solved the problem. It won't be his fault if MAGA continue on their economic destruction agenda.

(6,584 posts)I said he coughed, and that he looked tired.
I also said that he had been on an overseas trip, and that he had undoubtedly worked hard on the debt ceiling problem, and that he therefore deserved some rest.
How hard was that? Think for yourself.

(1,967 posts)It doesnt read that way. And it certainly doesnt read well at all here on this site.

(51,308 posts)If you didn't mean the cough was a function of his "tiredness", then why bring it up?
Many of us read it the way you wrote it, where you clearly link his "tiredness" and "the second time" you've heard him coughing.

I bet Bidens tired! Dealing with schmucks and idiots who are more whiny and crabby and hyperactive than our grandgirls at age 4 and 2 has got to be an extra heavy lift.
Hell, even the cats seem tired, and all they did all weekend is hide under our bed!

And dealing with idiots gets old really fast. It must be annoying for the president to have to interact with the republivans.

Nothing new and doesn't seem to be problematic. Probably just due to his age.

(34,539 posts)The pollen has been awful, but the weather has been great; lots of days in the low 70s with low humidity. The flowering trees have been spectacular this year.
Regarding Biden, I am constantly amazed that he can keep the schedule that he does and still look vital and healthy and happy. Were very lucky.

(6,584 posts)We have an actual President who works for a living. He had to talk to world leaders and reassure them that everything will be okay. That would be our talking points. He has earned a break, which will come during the period of time that Congress is fighting over this bipartisan bill.
If that's what their talking points are, then they're toast. More like media points, really, and you can't avoid that. At least our guy doesn't wear tangerine face to make himself look tanned.

(11,778 posts)My seasonal allergies are seriously messing with me right now, and the older I get, the worse they become! Plus, I am also allergic to cat dander.I sleep with not less than 2 cats every night. My 20lb Balanese, next to my head every night. Next, the Manx on my hip or under an armpit,. Now, a rescued green-eyed lovely Russian Blue, Violetta. I don't stand a chance! My eyes feel like gravel, I am snot filled, my throat is scratchy, I can hardly talk in
the morning. Guess who has a cat around him at night nowadays? Yep, our amazing President. I bet his issue is pollen and cat. I have been using my prescription allergy eye drops, inhaler, and eating benadryl like pretty pink candy. He's good. Remember Clinton's voice at times?

(6,584 posts)Some other people, not so much.
The point of the post was to make an observation, to note that Biden has seemingly met the test of the debt ceiling, and to suggest that he earned some rest. You people act like Biden should be portrayed like Trump on his silly trading cards. You should be prepared for him to relax a bit. He doesn't play golf every frickin weekend, he only occasionally rides a bike, and he needs to reduce stress like every person in the world needs to do.
