Will the GOP attempt Impeachment Hearings Over Petraeus-Benghazi Issue?

I hate these fuckers and think they're going to try in order to stop President Obama during his 2nd term.

It would cause a HUGE backlash on the repukes at at time when they are in the doghouse with the electorate to begin with...the country has no appetite for this sort of thing. Everybody is tired of deadlock bullshit and want to get the country moving forward again.

This whole thing was to Jimmy Carter PBO. It didn't work, it will either go away real fast (nothing to see here), or backfire and get real interesting.

He'd use that as a way to imply Obama is using thugs to spy on people, esp. repubs like Petraeus, in order to keep them in line.

How could Obama possibly know? Why would he know? The second 'other' woman went right around him.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/12/us/us-officials-say-petraeuss-affair-known-in-summer.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

WASHINGTON — High-level officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department were notified in the late summer that F.B.I. agents had uncovered what appeared to be an extramarital affair involving the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, David H. Petraeus, government officials said Sunday.

But law enforcement officials did not notify anyone outside the F.B.I. or the Justice Department until last week because the investigation was incomplete and initial concerns about possible security breaches, which would demand more immediate action, did not appear to be justified, the officials said.

The new accounts of the events that led to Mr. Petraeus’s sudden resignation on Friday shed light on the competing pressures facing F.B.I. agents who recognized the high stakes of any investigation involving the C.I.A. director but who were wary of exposing a private affair with no criminal or security implications. For the first time Sunday, the woman whose report of harassing e-mails led to the exposure of the affair was identified as Jill Kelley, 37, of Tampa, Fla.

Some members of Congress have protested the delay in being notified of the F.B.I.’s investigation of Mr. Petraeus until just after the presidential election. Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California and the chairwoman of the Intelligence Committee, said Sunday that her committee would “absolutely” demand an explanation. An F.B.I. case involving the C.I.A. director “could have had an effect on national security,” she said on “Fox News Sunday.” “I think we should have been told.”

I still don't see where it says the White House was negligent in the Ben Ghazi affairs. The characters are all republicans according to that article, so why fixation on Obama?

Edit
I also noticed you voted for an impeachment, are you one of those that are pushing for impeachment?

Would the Republicans actually want the WH to have more control over the FBI/CIA right now? That is what an investigation would likely determine the need for.

If anything, it seems to me, that the cover-up was to keep this from the WH until after the election because if Romney won, the entire matter could have been swept under the rug.

We just picked up another house seat in AZ this morning (and a bi-sexual chick, no less) and there are still 5 seats not called. Per WaPo, all 5 are leaning Dem right now. That only brings us to ~200 of 218 (give or take one).

I really don't see the teahadists pulling the same shit this coming term. West and Walsh are out, Grayson is back in. I could be wrong, it just *feels* different this time. Not to mention the Operations/Think Tank wing of the GOP is railing unrelentlessly on the "Conservative Entertainment Complex" wing for costing them the election AND all of their pet referendums.

We shall see, but I really think the pin has burst the bubble of stupidity this time.

What these bungholes want is to keep their dumb ass tepublican base frothing at the mouth and hating Obama.
It's like that old game with a pea and three walnut shells.
If the teapublican leaders can keep their 'foxbats' looking at the wrong walnut shell then they can better serve their corporate masters.
Pitch the three ring impeachment circus tent. Stoke up you're 'Limpballs' ring master. Shine the spotlight on the flying FOX.
Serve you're corporate masters.

You don't thinks the Teapublicans learned anything from election 2012. Do you?
