This might have saved our country in more ways than I can name.
Thank goodness!

(129,045 posts)We have to "clean House". Literally. Get control back of the House and take back our states from the crazies.
Liberals and progressives ARE the "silent majority" and most don't live life in a perpetual angry state like rethugs. Thus the impetus to use the vote as a way to attack others and impose extremist views rather than to promote responsible governance, is not in our nature, and thus we tend to sit home and go about our lives, and the loons win. We can't do that. We have to be participatory in our governance.

(11,304 posts)expect others to do what we all should do. These mid elections are just as important as the presidential election. We must start voting for dem in our state legislatures also. Grass roots organization starting now.

(15,438 posts)President Obama can go a looooong way by using his brilliant campaign staffers to ensure that we win back the House in 2014 while he tackles election fraud and voter intimidation in those key states where Democrats should have won last week.
It can happen, but if districts are not only gerrymandered but also brimming with rightwing nuts ready to use every dirty trick in the book to keep people from voting for Democrats (like in Arizona and Texas), there's a lot he can do to stop them. This is the only way to win the House back in 2014. Oh, and we also need strong candidates to pit against the Republicans.

(11,304 posts)would have won more seats. The republicans know that. They are going to try and find ways to stop us from voting. So it's up to us to remember that mid elections count and we must show up.
