and then nobody did. So they will get exchanges set up by the federal government because that is what they chose to happen.

1. I thought this was ironic as well.....here in Missouri, they voted to actually NOT ALLOW the state

to set up the exchange, so the Federal Govt has to come in and set it up for them. It was all the conservatives that voted Yes on this - to take this out of the state's power and let the Fed do it. Crazy. Now they can keep blaming it on the Obama Administration though, rather than taking responsibility themselves.

2. hope they'll end up praising Obamacare after a while...

then it'll be the Feds again that saved them, like SS and Medicare.

3. When they start taking advantage of it, they can't give credit to their local Repubs.

If state-level Republicans had been smart, they'd have set up the exchanges themselves.

Then any time someone criticized Obamacare, they could say "Obama made us do it"
Whenever someone praised Obamacare, they could take credit and say "See, we agreed with it. We set it up ourselves in our state."

Yes they'd have to stretch the truth or lie to do either, but they could have done that much more plausibly than they can now, having voted to deny funds and done everything possible to avoid it.
