Trump learns he's a special counsel 'target,' turns to GOP allies

As Donald Trump is formally notified of his status as the target of a criminal probe, he’s begging congressional Republicans to help. This won’t work.

.........

For reasons unknown, Trump genuinely seems to believe that congressional Republicans have a role to play in his intensifying legal troubles. Indeed, he and his team have been unsubtle about this for weeks: In late April, the Republican’s lawyers sent a strange, 10-page letter to the House Intelligence Committee, insisting that a “legislative solution,” to be approved by Congress, is “required” to prevent federal prosecutors from pursuing the case further.

The letter proposed that the Justice Department “should be ordered to stand down” — as if members of the legislative branch have the authority to direct federal prosecutors to drop a case. (They have no such authority.)

I honestly don’t know what he expects congressional Republicans to do. Congress has no control over who is or isn’t indicted. It’s possible that Trump has imagined a scenario in which lawmakers pass a bill to defund the special counsel’s office, thereby derailing the investigation, but even if the GOP-led House were to take up such a measure, it obviously couldn’t pass the Democratic-led Senate or receive President Joe Biden’s signature

What we’re seeing, in other words, is a desperate criminal suspect scrambling to find someone, anyone, who can help rescue him from a crisis of his own making. Whether Trump understands this or not, his pleas won’t work.

Just like the Treasury was not his personal piggy bank or the DOJ his personal law firm.

Violating the US Constitution as he has has consequences. The chickens are coming home to roost. Those who come to his aid will have a reckoning of their own. THE VOTERS.

Gym Jordan is one of the main people helping Trump obstruct justice, and he can't be voted out due to extreme gerrymandering.

They don't want to be seen actively aiding in his prosecution, but they aren't about to stand in the way.
As long as they can blame the democrats the base will still be theirs.

The media have gotten a touch more skeptical at last about the former guy's ridiculous pronouncements. Now it's time to just hammer away on how disoriented he is. This is not a well man, and he's headed for the slammer.

All Jordan can really do is yell “Hunter Biden!” And hold hearings with “missing witnesses” where he just editorializes. But none of that is going to stop drumpf from being indicted.

Is exactly how he operates day in and day out. Always weaseling , scheming and conniving manipulating, intimidating, etc . All the nice characteristics to get whatever the fuck he wants. Laws are made for other people, not his Majesty King Donny. Just full speed ahead for him. Nobody’s going to tell him what to do.

The only thing that will stop him is, if he’s indicted, prosecuted and convicted of serious crimes. That will probably bring him to a screeching halt. Finally.

with some type of government service, whether elected or appointed for a municipal/county/state/federal position or even as an employee (including military service, drafted or volunteer).

There is a complete disconnect regarding the 3 branches of government and their roles (and the "Dos/Do nots" ), and as an employee, you see how it works in "real time".
