"And I hope that you die
And your death will come soon
I'll follow your casket
By the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead"

(4,390 posts)hits just as the graveside lowering portion of the nasty deceased's lowering ceremony begins with gusting winds that destroy the canopy, bolts of lightening and thunder mar the tense silence, and drenching rain with hail pelt the bereaved as they hurl their carnations hastily into the pit and leave hurriedly en mass without so much as an Amen.

But it certainly sounds like Davis. I wouldn't be surprised if she had quoted it.

(2,561 posts)You analyse me, attempt to despise me
And you laugh when I stumble and fall
There may come a day I will dance on your grave
If unable to dance I will crawl across it
Unable to dance I will crawl
Yeah, unable to dance I'll crawl

There are masterfully crafted lyrics from him that applies to every situation in life. American treasure.

(41,959 posts)Until he died Robertson encouraged hatred toward others in order to grift. He took money from poor and foolish people gleefully, amassing a fortune off of disasters and aligning with dictators and authoritarians. A small sample:

I am glad hes gone. Sadly, the grift will go on.

(7,069 posts)I got about a third of the way through his book about the "philosophy" of the modern song before I concluded it is really just his collection of weird, unhinged old-white-man rants against women (calling them "cunts" and the like). What a misogynistic asshole. I really despise him as a person now.

(8,810 posts)that upon death, Reagan, Cheney, HWBush, Rumsfeld, Trump, McConnell, and many others will be buried in a single cemetery where people can come and pay their respects, all at one time. Outside of the 2 x 8' grave site itself, all the areas around the graves, will be covered in concrete for acres and acres, complete with surface area drains.

(14,570 posts)he (Falwell, the Bakkers and others) have been serving the adversary all along.
He was all about hate, divisiveness, greed, lust for power (and who knows what else, or who else, he lusted for). As a person who is a believer, I have long been dismayed at the direction many Christian sects in the United States have taken.
I mean, all you have to do is read the Sermon on the Mount and you see how far these people diverged from the real Christian message.
The real idol most of the powers that be serve here in America is that golden bull on Wall Street. There are exceptions, and those mostly in the Democratic party. AOC, Warren, Sanders, Katie Porter, the rest of the Squad. They are the ones who speak for the poor, the vulnerable, the widow, the orphan, and for peace not war.
You know, if the Catholic, Baptist, Mormon and other churches sold all they have, they could pay for a real healthcare system here. They could help the poor in a real, material way to get the skills and support they need.
I'm so tired of economic violence. That's what poverty is, you know. The idea that corporations get to cooperate and get tax dollars to bail them out while we have to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps is economic violence. Americans having $17 trillion in consumer debt is economic violence, especially when it comes to student debt and healthcare debt.
Well, this is why I am a Democrat. We're not perfect, but geez, at least we care about governing the country and about trying to do the right thing.

NOW when tRUMP is executed for TREASON I will celebrate and hopefully they burn the ashes and salt the grave so that demon can never rise and possess another again.
Pat Robertson definitely went insane and took quite a few with him, but he didn't start out that way.
Not like tRUMP throwing rocks at a toddler when he was 8 years old and already a bully.
Still, shows how crazy and evil can be whitewashed and make people run away from Christianity when religious leaders embrace judgement and making themselves God's judge and jury.
