and it just made this little bitterness bubble up: if Nixon had been prosecuted, trump would never have happened. if reagan had. if bush had. but they all skated. and of course he skated for almost 80 years of his life.
i am happy tonight. but i cannot forget that it didn't have to be this way.
i hate republicans

I loved it, and I especially loved it when he said Rachel was the first person he wanted to talk to whenever there is breaking news like this.

(2,771 posts)8. This Hartmann Report was in my email this morning.
https://open.substack.com/pub/thomhartmann/p/first-criminal-president-donald-trump-71f?r=crl3&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email
Hartmann reminds us of Nixon and Reagan and Bushs ignominious behavior. Its really Republican Party ignominious behavior. After having read this Hartmann piece just before listening to Michael Beschloss on MSNBC question why Ford pardoned Nixon before he faced any legal consequences made me want to tell him that it possibly was to shield Nixon from investigations that might have unearthed the treason Johnson accused him of.
Let the ex-President face consequences. Its past time Republicans face justice.
