Why isn't anyone attempting to make educational software that is as fun and addicting as video games?? I believe it can easily be done and the result could drastically improve the education situation in this country in a very short amount of time.

(982 posts)Instead we are going backwards, almost by design.
My kids were reading and doing math at age 3 largely due to educational software.
There are already tons of good games out there.
Our local school refused to purchase educational software, and instead used the Tech $$ for 20 copies of microsoft office and blackberries for all the teachers.
All the kids use the computer for is word processing.
