(11,489 posts)The guy that was paying us to vote, his van broke down the last couple days and all the other dozens of vans were full. We hit 20 precincts a day prior to that. It was hard remembering who I was supposed to be. I messed up a couple times and had to correct my name, but the guys just looked at me funny and accepted my phony information. Each van was equipped with printers to print out fake utility bills, just in case. My understanding is that nationwide, nearly 20 million votes were cast from our operation, and that doesn't even count people doing it on their own.

(5,856 posts)I took my 9 year old nephew to my polling place with me, and since we are African American, thought it best for him to mark the ballot for Obama since he may never have the opportunity to vote for a black president again.
