One way to deal with the religious freeperverse

The right-wingers are on Romney's campaign page expressing anguish that Obama won despite God's will. But if you're a fundamentalist, I'm supposing you believe God to be infallible. In keeping with that argument, one poster wrote:

"Don't worry. God's will was done. Obama was elected in a landslide. God must know what he's doing."

God didn't want you to be President, Mitt.

I have a very religious online friend who knows the bible cover to cover. She always deals with fundegelicals in this manner and it is an absolute joy to watch her work them over.

Other people find it an odd friendship, a stone atheist and an extremely religious person but it's amazing how far tolerance and mutual respect can take you.

If you quote Bible versus back to them. There are so many verses from the New Testament that deal with caring for the poor, but right wingers hate to hear them. Your friend is doubtless far more adept in such discussions than I am. I just quote the verses and don't insult them, but they still get ticked off.

and a far better person than I. He later wrote this: "Carol, My heart breaks for you. I hate seeing people unhappy. Just hang in there and you will see that things are going to get much better for all of us. I know it's hard for you to believe right now, but the country did the right thing and elected the best person for the job. It will get better ... I promise you."

wiser people don't claim to be the only favored candidates of God Himself. We used to call these people fools. Now we call them Senator.

This has to stop.

Obama is defying God. (Regarding abortion)

I asked one simple question: "Who decided that President Obama is defying God?"

Her response: silence

She knew that I was about to jump on her with both feet and tell her that only God can decide that and so far God has not spoken about the election or who is sitting in the White House.
