More important is whether his appointees, when he gets a chance, be progressives in spirit.

but it would depend on which women. Judge Judy would be a big step up from the RATS+K five.

Above all I want to see sane judgement...progressive ideals are not even as important.

I don't think any of us want to see legislation from the bench but we have to quell the cycle of putting our people in there and then watching the next GOP executive (shiver) nominate their people when they get in.

The judiciary should represent sound judgement before they represent partisan politics.

For that matter I believe that they should be evenly male and female by law with the odd judge being the senior member of the court.

Our future depends on sound judgement. It is imperative that partisan politics evolve into a science of mutual responsibility for all citizens rather than the simple advancement of an agenda that half the people disagree with.

IMO, it should be 5 women, 4 men, because we have more women than men in this country. We surely have plenty of women to choose from...

an African American woman would be the next nominee.

The court needs to reflect the makeup of the country and this would be a step in the right direction.

Scalia was barely 50.

Thomas was 40-something.

Republicans play this game for keeps.
