The Arizona Senate race has already been called by networks for Republican Jeff Flake, but with many votes still to be counted, Democrat Richard Carmona isnt ready to give up yet.
Were watching it very closely, and were going to make sure every vote is counted, Carmonas spokesman Andy Barr told TPM on Monday.
He said the campaign has not ruled out taking action if the race tightens.
The latest figures show Carmona trailing by some 78,000 votes with nearly half a million ballots still uncounted. Victory for the Democrat would be uphill climb by any reckoning, but its mathematically possible. His campaign notes that there are up to hundreds of thousands of uncounted provisional ballots that could also affect the race.
Carmona conceded the race on election night, telling his supports, We didnt win tonight, but when you look at the results its clear that Arizona is moving toward moderation.
Now his campaign is wondering if it was too soon.

(67,407 posts)Yup. If Carmona concedes and the voters say otherwise... Carmona is the elected Senator.

Keep fighting for that 614,000 votes, there has to be votes included there for him.
I'm wondering once everything is cleared up if the president will end up carrying AZ?
This is looking more likely daily.
