In 2008 and 2012 Obama won the majority of our largest cities/counties here in Texas: Austin/Travis, Dallas/Dallas, Houston/Harris, El Paso, San Antonio, etc.

Texas is really more PURPLE now than it is red.

I am in the Bay Area and you would not believe how much crap I encounter for being a Native Texan.

Texan will lose big-time if idiots take the state out of the Union. I am guessing that the OP is looking at the situation from the standpoint of taxes, but is a little off. Texas is neutral on taxes, it is neither a Donor or Beggar state. But the other states that want to secede are big beggar states that will be destroyed on their own or as a collection of red states.

.... don't dump on the minority (for now) in Texas. I'm a Texas DU member who rejoiced in the election results. We're trying our best to bring a very red state along.

Texas will be blue by 2020 and it will be lights-out for the 'pubs.

Are you in a blue state?
