I suppose I should post this in LGBT, but it's a heartwarming story and I want more people to see it

For this story to make some sense, you need to know that I live in one of the fine states that ratified marriage equality. Yes, we do in fact rock. We passed weed too.

This morning, driving home from work, I was at a stop light and as I pulled up, I noticed that the car in the right lane had a LGBT for Obama sticker. The car in front of me started inching up so I inched up so that we were window to window. I waved to get her attention and she gave me a wary, who's the crazy lady look, but then I grinned, pointed toward the back of her car and gave her a hearty thumbs up. She took about a nanosecond, realized what I meant and gave me a grin and vigorous nod and the thumbs up too. We parted ways then, but I hope she felt as joyous as I did.

I'm so pleased with my state overall. We did some damn fine things and no matter how one feels about church and state and marriage, et al, it just feels good to have, as a majority, chosen to give the same rights to a minority. I feel strongly that majority should never have the right to decide the rights of minorities, but since we had to, we did it proud, we did it right.

I live in a blue state but it's close enough that'd I'd be nervous about having any kind of bumper sticker, especially an LGBT for Obama sticker, on my car. You DO live in a great place!
