The July photography contest theme was chosen by Mousetoescamper, who won the contest in May, and it is “DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK” Shadow photography.

This contest will run for 3 days, and then the top 3 vote-getters in each thread and the next highest vote-getter with make the 10 photos for the finals which will follow the preliminary voting.

We have 3 Submission threads, and I urge you to vote in every one of them.

Didn't want to.

The first, the clock, and the one with the cat or in Lucca--interesting. But not that interesting. "Ooh, look at that!" comes to mind. Good tourist photo.

Son leaned to the moon/branches photo. But said, ultimately, "Yeah, no, not that good--sort of a common aesthetic."

I laughed at his remark to "People are shadows"--"They clicked the camera by accident and thought *that* was their best picture from vacation?"

He's on the spectrum. But son of a HS science teacher/ABD Slavic/certified in social studies + Linguistics PhD, he can be a bit scary. This is his "thing."
