Caught a bit of David Gregory Sunday. He was explaining to viewers that the Obama victory, which I understand is nearly equal to Bushs' victory over Kerry in 2004, is a "mandate to compromise".
If memory serves me, nearly all the media, including NPR, called Bushs' victory something like a "blank check from voters".
We did our part, people standing in lines for hours to express their political will, making the phone calls, knocking on doors, etc..
We were lied to by the media right up to the last minute to discourage us from voting, even a week from election day all we heard about was the "Romney momentum". Polls that just flat out lied. Ad nauseum.
So now that we turned them all upside down with the voter turnout, the new meme is "grand bargain". I see nothing grand about it at all.
If this comes to pass and the 99% once again gets sold out, it will force many to draw some very dark conclusions about what is left of the democratic process in this country.

(4,734 posts)Occupy has been quietly organizing since last year and if this "grand bargain" keeps being pushed, will educate the public on what it means when the media won't.
