WASHINGTON -- The movement to impeach President Barack Obama has been launched, just days after he won a second term in the White House.
The Conservative Majority Fund, a conservative group known primarily for its birther conspiracy spreading, has launched a robocall campaign to gin up support for the president's impeachment.
The call, emailed to The Huffington Post by Shaun Dakin of StopPoliticalCalls.org, reads in part as follows:
Our only recourse now is to move forward with the full impeachment of President Obama. We suspect that Obama is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors and that there may be grounds for impeachment as is laid out in the constitution. Further, he may not even be a U.S. citizen because nobody, I mean no one, has seen an actual physical copy of his birth certificate. Impeachment is our only option. And Republicans are already considering Obama investigations. As the nation's most effective conservative group we are launching the official impeach Obama campaign.

(8,377 posts)It will only highlight how crazy the GOP is. It will be impossible for the GOP to separate themselves from the crazies that surround them, because, frankly, they don't look a lot different from McCain, Graham, Ryan, or any of the others.
The American public is fed up with these creeps.

They are busy bleeding every last dime out of the racist rubes that are blinded by the light and can't help but zoom right into that glorious flame stoked by the Conservative Entertainment Complex.

(59 posts)I was in the habit of letting the phone ring, election season and all. But I saw the caller ID say, "Defeat Obama." Damn, that was quick. I answered, thinking I would make the caller wish he had taken the day off.
Robocall, of course. The script was the same as the one above. It sounded desperate, strident, and almost laughably inflammatory. They're cashing in on people's fears, like so many of the right-wing organizations. It's what they do. They're first cousins to tele-evangelists.

(619 posts)It would be great if nearly everybody finally got wise to them, and McCain/Graham invited everybody else to that little party and nobody came.

(20,317 posts)trying to impeach a popular President who *just* won a landslide victory, I say more power to 'em. It looks like the most cynical, irresponsible abuse of the system, to override the will of the country.
If congressional Republicans are stupid enough to get on board, they'll lose the House in two years in another landslide.
