Newsmax hides survey results showing that people really don't want Medicare cut

http://waliberals.org/right-wing-website-newsmax-suppresses-embarrassing-survey-results-about-medicare/2012/11/14/

Do you favor significant cuts to Medicare?
Yes, cut Medicare significantly 91,174( 09%)
No, don’t cut Medicare significantly 894,105( 90%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What’s significant is that 86% of respondents wanted to lower the federal deficit by cutting taxes and/or spending and yet 90% of respondents (almost 900,000 people) opposed significant cuts to Medicare.

Also, 67% of respondents (965,774) said “No, don’t repeal it at all” in response to “Do you support the full repeal of President Obama’s healthcare plan Congress passed in 2010?”.

talking about this. They DID NOT ask Nancy Pelosi or any other incoming Dems on the program to speak on tax cuts/"fiscal cliff". They only featured Repigs who of course advocated for cutting "entitlements" - which are NOT "entitlements" - they're EARNED BENEFITS.

The goddamned slant was so far right you could cross-country ski down it.

THIS is why I never donate to them.

... and more and more folks figure out that the idea that tax cuts for the rich create jobs is utterly and demonstrably false, the same folks will start noticing that ridiculous health care costs are a real and present danger to our economy and the only real way to solve them is to do what every single other industrialized country in the world has done.

It's only rocket-science to those who have been propagandized for so long that clear and obvious truths are not clear and obvious.

But once you figure out that the very lynchpin of a party's economic policy is 100% bullshit, you might start to wonder how much more of their policy is also bullshit.

Newsmax is a very conservative site too, with a vast majority of readers (which is who generally answers the surveys) being Republican.

Newsmax continues to perpetuate the trickle-down myth. It is puzzling to see that 59% of respondents chose this answer. Are so many people still that stupid? Was this the way people responded to a leading question with no option to raise taxes and cut spending?

Here is the question with its four choices:

To close the federal deficit, Congress and the President should

Raise taxes
65,317(9%)

Cut spending
212,098(31%)

Cut taxes and cut spending
360,931(53%)

Raise taxes and increase spending
40,090(5%)
