Listen to Marc Elias speak on the Georgia law/commission republicans want to use to remove DA Willis

Last edited Fri Sep 1, 2023, 09:25 AM - Edit history (1)

...speaking to Brian Tyler Cohen.

Marc points out the obvious, that the law says the opposite of the political reasons republicans say they want to use it for; namely that it's intended to encourage prosecutions, NOT stop a solid, multi-indicted RICO case.

He doesn't believe it would survive a court challenge; maybe not even surviving the lawsuits Ga. DAs are pursuing right now.

It would be nice if Maddow and others spreading fear on this would bother to present an argument AGAINST what republicans SAY they'll do, instead of just parroting republican claims and intentions and insisting to us that they're all-powerful and inviolable.

Check it out: (forward it to Rachel Maddow )

...Elias really deserves to be heard by a lot of folks, including those who have come on with their own fears generated by these reports.

How many folks weighed in on the Maddow threads on this? The day of the arrest she took time out to work people up again. You can see the effects of that in responses cynical of the process, skeptical of the prosecution because of this supposed backdoor fix.

Even if it occured and Willis was removed, it still wouldn't dislodge this prosecution. Listen to Marc, one of the top election lawyers in the country.

I saw him last week trying to encourage all his opponents to stop pushing these cases so they’d never have to see him again.

He also mentioned he’ll be helping in Texas with the mess we are constantly fighting. I was relieved to hear that.

Elias is a national hero. He is not well know but when you look at all the court actions to stop voter suppression and disenfranchisement, he is the one behind all of them.

Millions of people gave voting rights because of him.

This video assuages my fears the they will fire Willis to have drumpf set free. Having heard Elias speak them at simply won’t work for them.

...over what republicans claim they can do with the law and commission, which is all we've basically heard from journos highlighting this.

How many of these republican schemes to block justice and help Trump have been successful? Ask Marc Elias.
