GOP Chief in Maine says: Mystery black voters (Not the Onion)

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83895.html

“In some parts of rural Maine, there were dozens, dozens of black people who came in and voted on Election Day,” Charlie Webster told Portland, Me.’s NBC affiliate on Wednesday. “Everybody has a right to vote, but nobody in town knows anyone who’s black. How did that happen? I don’t know. We’re going to find out.”

*snip*

Both the Maine Secretary of State’s office and the head of the state’s association of town clerks told the Portland Press-Herald they were unaware of any problems.

“I’m not talking about 15 or 20. I’m talking hundreds,” Webster told the paper. “I’m not politically correct and maybe I shouldn’t have said these voters were black, but anyone who suggests I have a bias toward any race or group, frankly, that’s sleazy.”

Maine is one of the whitest states in the country, with a black population of only 1.2 percent.

Those little towns in rural Maine, I would bet every penny I have that the poll workers in those small towns know every single person.

and no other person(s) in Maine have mentioned these "hundreds" of black people suddenly appearing to vote. Is it possible that Mr Webster, umm "has visions"?

Honestly, is there some form of mental illness (other than Obama Derangement Disorder) that draws people to the Republican party? Something in their food? Some strange vitamins they all take? Are they the Borg?

Many questions, few answers.

Then again, perhaps Maine Democrats just shipped in some blacks from Kenya to take over the polls. If so, BRILLIANT!

Webster makes these allegations, but refuses to say exactly where in Maine this is supposed to have occurred, and NOT ONE person has stepped forth to corroborate his claims. (People of Color in Maine WERE challenged by some of the GOP "poll watchers" but were able to prove their rights to vote.)

This is the same guy who spent nearly $50,000 taxpayer dollars a couple of years ago "investigating" (harassing) citizens who were voting legally.

It's so big a village we got a Chinese restaurant in '05.

When I walk into town hall, they greet me by my 1st name. Hell, they used to call me at home to remind me to renew my dog's license. Ok, I'm probably the only one in town who gets my dogs licensed, but still. They know his name too.

They have lists of every registered voter and their address in town. You reach the front of the line, maybe point out your name on their list if they can't find it. They cross you off the list, hand you a ballot and send you through to the voting boxes.

No way in hell any ineligible stranger, never mind hundreds of black strangers, slipped into the voting lines in rural Maine and managed to surrueptitiously vote.

We bused Black people in from Boston, after finding them with blue Scott Brown for Obama shirts on walking around Black neighborhoods. They told us that republicans were paying them, so we warmed up the buses and took off for lobster country.
