Martin OMalley (D), who is still basking in last weeks ballot measure victories, plans to take part in a celebration of a different sort Thursday night.
The governors Celtic rock band, OMalleys March, is booked to play at the James Joyce in Baltimore as part of the 10th anniversary festivities at the Irish pub and restaurant. The pub in Harbor East opened during OMalleys tenure as mayor of Baltimore, and he has maintained a special relationship with the establishment since. A booth in the back bears OMalleys name and family seal.
OMalleys performance Thursday will follow a VIP Happy Hour, according to a flier advertising the event. OMalleys band, which had its heyday during his tenure as mayor and a Baltimore councilman, has been surfacing often lately. The band is scheduled to play a pair of concert next month in Annapolis.
On Election Day, voters approved OMalley-backed measures to allow same-sex marriage, extend in-state tuition rates to certain illegal immigrants, expand gambling and uphold the states congressional map.

I know all the talk is about Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren in 2016, but I have to say I'm hoping Marty is a major contender.
