Homeowners, which of these consumes more energy in your house: space heating or water heating? Either way, Uncle Sam is ready to help you pay for some energy-efficient upgrades. The Inflation Reduction Act, signed into law by President Biden a year ago, created two energy-efficiency rebate programs that could pay some, or even all, of the costs of buying Energy Star-rated appliances, adding insulation or otherwise making your home more efficient.
The rub: States will administer the programs, and each one must apply for its share of the $8.8 billion in federal funds earmarked for the rebates. And some states may opt out. The states application window opened this summer, when the Department of Energy issued the programs guidelines, and will close on Jan. 31, 2025.
DoE expects the majority of states will have their programs up and running by early 2024. The rebates will be available to homeowners until Sept. 30, 2031, or until their respective state depletes its grants. Declined funds will be redistributed to other states. One state has already indicated it probably wont participate.
Lawmakers in Tallahassee voted to apply for Floridas allocation which, at roughly $346 million, is the third-largest in the country, behind California and Texas. But Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed the measure as woke. The DoE has not been officially notified, so DeSantis could still change his mind.

If Gubner Noun/Verb & Woke tells them to jump, they're only response is "how high?".
This is why I believe after the Gubner's presidential campaign collapses, he will force feed a bill allowing him to run for another term, and this rubber stamp legislature will approve it without debate or contest.

(43,356 posts)The Attorney General of Kansas, the honorable Kris Kobach fired a law firm working on electric consumer financial relief from a provider several months ago. The reason, one of the members of the firm donated to a democrat. Kobach has yet to replace the law firm. Far from me to cast asparagus on one of the most conservative legal minds in a small county in Kansas.

(301 posts)I live here too and this is only one of multiple reasons I refuse to vote for him for any office at all, ever. I get his "vote for me" emails. If u Florida residents and you don't get them do what you need to get his running for President emails. He sends them for fundraising. I send him 10 or more numbers of reasons I NEVER vote for him for any office. Join me.
Don't just let him talk and not respond to him, press, friends and all Florida's people to know just how dangerous he is

(19,202 posts)Think mafia. But cults are also self-destructive. I post a lot about this because it explains a lot to me, but also how hard it is to escape or extricate.
One can hope that people "at the edges" get a clue and exercise one of the cult escape mechanisms, since they aren't completely brainwashed.
The damage done in the name of the little king is horrendous. And this is a Yale and Harvard Law grad? ( that alone is schizophrenic. ) And completely discordant with his nazi attitudes. "A Connecticut Yankee" redneck?
Elle Woods is more rational.
