Just got an earful from a RWNJ guy repairing my stove

Thanks to OmamaSteve, I found out last weekend that my stove was faulty and may catch fire (!!) so called and scheduled the repair, which happened this evening.

(Heads up, LG stove owners: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=1792269 )

So Dude is here, and starts telling me that they are all going to under 30 hours in January and laying off most of the company because of Obamacare. I listened to the rant, and started asking some questions -

Is business falling off? -- No, thats the problem, we are busier than ever!.

So how many people are at your company? -- 11, down to 5 in January.

I don't think you all are even impacted. Isn't it like 50 or 100 employee minimums? -- I think it is 100, but it affects all of us.

(Actually, its 50, but I wanted to keep him talking, so played dumb about it)

Thats horrible. I heard about restaurants doing this and I hate to hear it is happening to you all as well, but I don't understand why you all would lay people off if you don't have enough people to cover the work now? -- The cost of gas and healthcare is making it too expensive.

So what happens to all of the things that need to be repaired? -- Thats the beauty of America! Someone else will step in and open a new business. Anyone can be Bill Gates. Until they tell us that they will fine us for not joining a gym or something.

Wasn't even sure what to say at that point. Dude just told me that his company was gutting their business and handing it over to the competition over a regulation that didn't even apply to them - and he was mad at the 'government' because it was happening.

Faulty circuit board replacement that was all of 5 screws. After I watched him, I would be comfortable doing it myself if I took a before pic of the connections.

I just can't get past the guy's mindset on this. It was like listening to bizarro land. Even my own RW mother would have doubled back on that logic.
