If you thought that the militantly insane factions of the GOP would feel beaten back by Barack Obama's resounding re-election victory, you were probably wrong. For example: Nine state lawmakers in Wisconsin say they are supporting a bill that would allow federal officials to be arrested for implementing Obamacare in the state. One of those nine lawmakers is state representative Chris Kapenga, who seems incredibly bad at his job.
"Just because Obama was re-elected does not mean he's above the constitution," Kapenga said.
Cool story, bro. Even governor Scott Walker who became a hero on the right after gutting the rights of unions in Wisconsin and winning a recall election in June is slowly backing away from this situation, shaking his head and grimacing at the demon spawn that he has let loose in his state. Today, Walker said through a spokesperson that he does not support arresting federal officials.
Granted, coming from Walker, that statement is the equivalent of "Man vs. Food" guy finally putting his foot down when faced with an 80-pound hamburger, but it's something. On Friday, Walker will decide whether Wisconsin will establish a health insurance exchange, which is one of the key provisions of Obamacare. If he declines (and indications are that he will), residents of Wisconsin will be able to participate in the federal exchange.
