BENGHAZI!

If you want an example of just how badly the GOP is imploding, Benghazi is the topic du jour.

Let's review the epic fail of the GOP:

- Romney, grinning madly, politicizes Benghazi even before official statements are released, even before it is known that Americans died in this tragedy. As a result, he looks ridiculous and even Republicans criticizes him for it.

- GOP whack jobs (e.g. McCain), not listening to what Obama actually said on the matter, start refuting the 'video' and start pounding the table angrily screaming "TERROR TERROR TERROR". Romney reiterates this during the debate, apparently in a failed attempt to set the President up. If only they had listened to Obama's address to the nation (multiple times) declaring the attack on the Embassy in Libya as an Act of Terror. Please, proceed, GOP.

- Instead, the GOP obsessed on statements by Ambassador Rice attributing the disruption in the middle east to the anti-Muslim video. What she said was not inaccurate and it was based on the latest intelligence at the time. When GOP talking heads and politicians are questioned about what she said as being incorrect or misleading, incredibly they answer "No.". They reiterate that she talked about the video 5 days after the event and after it had been labeled as an act of terror. When questioned further by reporters can the two facts not coincide, GOP pundits have no answer.

- McCain, at the same time he criticizes the administration on Benghazi, much of the criticism based on a lack of transparency or correct information, actually misses a two hour hearing where administration officials give testimony on the information and timeline. When questioned about missing the hearing, the man nearly strokes out having a hissy fit. Man the truth fucking hurts.

Reporter after reporter, journalist after journalist, keep asking the question, "what is the deal with Benghazi?" to GOP nut jobs. It's appearing more and more that it's about them losing the election more than it is about National Security. They have lost the American people on this issue. If the GOP members had souls, which they don't, they'd lose that next.

While this is going on, you've got other GOP members completely in disarray over the Fiscal Cliff and taxes, over what's wrong with their party. When you've got Romney in bitter-loser-statements exposing his own blatant racism and GOP members like Bobby Jindal repudiating them, you know they've really gone down the rabbit hole. Then you have the statements of Lee Atwater from 20 years ago expose the racism built-in to the GOP policy and platform, and you know the party is fucked.

Obama nailed it, the GOP is headed for a major party civil war. I think we may be witnessing the end of the GOP as we have known it.

It's clear that several of them have lost their minds and are unable to effectively serve their constituents. Can't wait for this to blow up in their faces.

their inability to make ANY of their made-up Dem "scandals" stick, along with their pounding in the election, has sent them over the edge and into the abyss

It's all they have to latch onto and they must DESPERATELY delegitimize the first American president of African origins.

They are laying the groundwork of lies and distortions now.

When Lindsey Graham accused the President of lying, he was showing his hand.

It's typical lame-ass Republican head fake. That's all they've got. The most they'll get out of this is a media circus, complete with scheduling errors.

The fact that they put Susan Rice at the center of their outrage proves they're charlatans.

There is nothing there.

A political party in complete disarray and ill conceived attempt to malign an effective POTUS. The do nothing party is clearly trying and failing to distract the American people from tax reform. The hope is to generate enough hype to and hoopla about this issue to make the nation forget about the economy and the real work at hand. Most of the American public, especially those that actively avoid FoxNews and the rest of the right wing media complex, will see through this.

Priority one as the President has illustrated and is moving forward on is preserving the middle class tax cut and increasing revenue by eliminating the ultrawealthy tax cut.

Have you noticed over and over again they scream that it's not about the video, it's a terror attack—as if the two are mutually exclusive.

It's as if they're screaming, "Look over here, not over there." That sort of behavior always makes me look over there.

What is this obsession of theirs with insisting that the attack had nothing to do with the video when it almost certainly did?

And just how did a half-assed, low-budget trailer for a movie that never existed appear in youtube and get publicised in the Arab world anyway? It certainly has the feel of a Rovian October surprise about it.

Probably to keep with the meme that Obama is soft on terror, Mitt said Obama failed to identify the activity in Libya as an act of terror, the morning after in the Rose Garden. I know you know this, but just want to include all of the lies in this tangled web.

So, Mitt looking like the idiot that he is, was wrong on national TV, most probably because he listens to Fox News. So that ballooned into Candy Crowley having a "melt-down", because she over-stepped the bounds. This lie is to distract from Mitt's error.

But, you are right, seriously, more needs to be known about the video, especially the timing of the translation.

15. That's the Republicans' standard M.O. of how they want the American People to think as if we

live in a vacuum, our actions no matter how atrocious, offensive or unjust etc. etc. should have no bearing on other nations and peoples' counteractions.

This is part of the "American exceptionalism" mentality which the radical right has spent so much time, energy and treasure into programming the American People with, via their 24/7 corporate media propaganda efforts.

To acknowledge that our most vile, racist, greed based, hate filled, narrow minded, war mongering, imperialistic, arrogant, xenophobic actions and words could have negative repercussions with other nations and peoples' throughout the world could and probably would threaten the very foundation of today's Republican Party, it would definitely narrow their power base.
