Write your own joke, folks.
RUSH: Look, here I'm already being asked, "Are you gonna talk about Hostess?" Yeah, I'm gonna talk about Hostess. You know what, 18,500 people gone, Hostess Twinkies, Ding Dongs, shut down. Some people might think it's a buy opportunity if you want to get in the Ding Dong business. But folks, if you need an indication that the Democrats will never compromise on anything, look at this. Hostess is going out of business because of unions. Now, that's 18,500 jobs. You would think in this economy that somebody might want to show the ability to compromise if only to fool people. They won't even compromise on this.

(23,973 posts)They loaded it up with debt, paid themselves a fortune, got the unions to make concessions so they could loot it even further, and have now run out of things to steal.
MANAGEMENT KILLED HOSTESS.

(36,693 posts)in July they gave the top ten execs anywhere from 350% to 200% raises
and asking the workers for a cut and loss of their pension
but you will never hear rush or any republican say this part
assholes run it into the ground and then blame the unions

(18,633 posts)He outlined a strategy where Bain would pad the payroll with extra VPs and give them generous pay increases to gain their cooperation in dismantling their own company. It seems they were more compliant if they had a golden parachute to float down on while they handed out their resumes' elsewhere.
So... I think you're on to something. We saw the exact same strategy here in a company called Copperweld Steel several years ago. Foreign investors added six overcompensated execs to the payroll and plundered the company's assets and pension fund. They plunged the company into unrecoverable debt. It's now a polluted and vacant piece of abandoned real estate.
The same exact thing is currently happening to the old Republic Steel plant (later LTV) in Warren Ohio. something has to be done about these vultures. Soon.
