When both the left and the right are against it...

Decided to visit Freeperville, just to see their take on SOPA.

They hate it as much as we do.

What I find so fascinating/interesting about this, is the “Strange Bedfellows” that are formed on both sides of the issue.

Who would have thought Freepers basically agreeing w/ Al Gore’s position on an issue.

I think this one truly comes down to those that understand the way the Internet fundamentally works, and those that don’t or don’t care.

If Obama does pull a NDAA on this one, he might actually kiss his re-election goodbye. Especially since he was utterly dependant on the internet for campaign support.

that this might be the case with the freepers.
Right-wing sites would be subject to defacto censorship
just like DU would, due to the sheer heavy-handedness
of SOPA. The right and the left were both against the bailouts, as well.
Too bad the freepers didn't understand the possibility
of a Dem president using the new powers against "terrorism"
suspects that Bush usurped. Idiots, nothing more than broken blocks
being right twice a day, like one poster above said.

And are starting to come around on the Patriot Act. The left or right aren't the problem, it's the extreme middle moderates.

and their shills who will defend anything from a corporate-backed politician. Supporting indefinite detention and SOPA are not "moderate" positions by a long shot.

At least on the internet they did. And we got that handed to us with a smile.

I hope we all have better luck this time. Maybe if the banks don't demand SOPA public opinion can shoot this one down.
