Arizona Gun Store Refuses To Sell Guns To Anyone Who Voted For Obama

The owner of the Southwest Shooting Authority in Pinetop, Arizona is testing out a new business strategy: banning anyone who voted for President Obama from the store.

Owner Cope Reynolds took out an ad in the local newspaper announcing his new policy, writing “If you voted for Barack Obama, your business is not welcome at Southwest Shooting Authority.” A similar sign is posted on the front door of the shop as well.

Reynolds prefaced his ad campaign with a letter posted to firearm news website AmmoLand:

Effective immediately, if you voted for Obama, your money is no good here. You have proven beyond a doubt that you are not responsible enough to own a firearm. We have just put a sign up on the front door to save you the trouble of walking all the way in here….

Gun advocates have been notoriously critical of the Obama administration for its perceived slights of the second amendment, this despite overseeing the expansion of gun rights during Obama’s first four years in the White House.

Too bad I'm not in the market for a gun and don't live in Arizona. What might be really entertaining is to buy a $2500 gun then walk into Southwest Shooters Supply, ask to speak to the owner, then place my Veterans ID card and the invoice on the counter and tell this moran I would have bought the gun there but I had to go to a store my money was good at.

Four or five of those and his evaluation of the quality of Democrats' money might change.

One of our better advertisers is a sporting goods store that does unbelievable gun business. The owner is now a registered Democrat because, as he told me, no president has ever done as much for his bottom line as Obama. Since Obama has been in office, this man has added a clothing outlet to his existing store (he needed to grow the gun department so he built a second building for apparel), opened an "outdoor lifestyle" store in the mall, started selling Life is Good, and opened a clearance outlet. Life is Good requires you dedicate a whole store to it and requires you to hire only super upbeat people to work there, so there's a heavy capital investment there.

Prohibition gave the mafia enough of a financial cushion to last forever. Obama's presidency will do the same for the gun shop owners.
