Is there even one living person who doesn't see the racism in "Food stamp president?"
That's just the most obvious. The Ron Paul Chronicles come quickly to mind as being pretty much on the same level as a KKK recruiting pamphlet.
There was that fucking idiot woman today at the Gingrich news conference who congratulated Newt for "putting That Juan Williams in his place."
This does not bode well. The repubican field has turned up the rhetoric and made it once again hunky dory to be openly racist.
Its going to be a long campaign season.
If we get that far.

(5,818 posts)didn't play the race card nearly as hard as they could have in 2008.
Apparently John McCain overruled his advisors on pushing the "Rev. Wright" talking points in the general election. IMO McCain's actions may be explained by the dark skin of his adopted Bangladeshi daughter. How could he ever again have looked her in the eye had he followed George Wallace's advice and never let anyone outdo him at shouting "Nxxxxr!"
This fall, I wouldn't be surprised at all if some of the tactics Southern Rs use against Obama echo those used against Harold Washington in his successful 1975 bid to become the first African-American mayor of Chicago. Washington's opponent's campaign theme song was set to the tune of "Bye-bye Blackbird".

(6,086 posts)nasty and OBVIOUSLY racist things about his daughter in 2000 followed by the vomit inducing hug he gave Idiot McCrackhead, I don't understand how he can look her in the eyes now.

(17,609 posts)see it they are pretending like they have before and since Obama became President. They are still dancing around the blatant and obvious racism they play with words on both sides..

(13,062 posts)Didn't McCain refer to Obama as "that one" during the presidential debates?

(67,818 posts)It sound much much more like what my father would say to my mother about me when he was pissed off at me.
"That one did it this time." so as to differentiate between my brother and me.
McCain is just an asshole, but I don't get "racist" from him so much.
