thanks to neil diamond of all people. heard his song america on the radio and thought that would be so cool if he sang that at the Inauguration.

to be honest, I don't really understand the point of second inaugurations. Obviously, the president has to be sworn in again, but I don't see why it's such a big event the second time around, when there is no change in power going on.

I went in 2009 and it was amazing but I probably won't go again. I no longer live in the DC area, and I have had medical issues that would make it tough. But I am looking forward to watching the president's speech, which I will probably be able to hear better on TV than I could at the event in 2009.
