That screaming you hear in the distance is Rupert Murdoch losing it--FOX could be in trouble!

It is a very, very bad day to be Rupert Murdoch.

News Corp exposed to growing legal threat following charges for tabloid duo

The new round of criminal charges brought in the UK against former senior News International editors has once raised again the prospect that Rupert Murdoch's New York-based parent company may be prosecuted under US anti-bribery laws, and complicates the rehabilitation of his son James as a possible successor to lead the global media empire.

The charges brought against Rebekah Brooks, who ran Murdoch's newspaper holdings in Britain, Andy Coulson, former editor of the now defunct News of the World, and two other former News International employees exposes the parent News Corporation to possible action under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The FCPA exists to prosecute US-domiciled companies for acts of bribery and corruption that they might commit abroad.

An official of the British ministry of defence, Bettina Jordan Barber, also faces trial for allegedly receiving £100,000 from Murdoch's tabloid newspapers for information that led to a series of published stories. The allegation that money passed hands clearly falls within the legal remit of the FCPA.

(AND DON"T MISS THIS PART::::::: The latest legal difficulties to hit News Corporation could also potentially have ramifications on its 27 TV licences within the Fox network – the real financial heart of the operation. Three of the licences are up for renewal, and in August the ethics watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (Crew) filed a petition with the US broadcasting regulator, the Federal Communications Commission, that called for them to be denied on the grounds that the company did not have the requisite character to run a public service.

There is more to read at the link....much, much, much more!

On top of that are going to be all the corporations that spent a gazillion dollars trying to buy the presidency for Mitt.

I'm sure Fox promised them that together, Mitt would sit.

Now there has to be some pretty po'd advertisers who are gonna tell Rupert to look somewhere else for $$.

Accountability only matters for public school teachers it seems.

There is no doubt that the performance of U.S. students against their international counterparts continues to disappoint. But since the reasons for this are so difficult to pin down, a parade of self-proclaimed experts and “reformers” has emerged in recent years, touting the urgency of their proposed solutions – never mind if they require redirecting streams of taxpayer dollars into the pockets of their friends.

News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch is among the more-recognizable faces of this movement, having purchased education technology firm Wireless Generation for $360 million in November 2010.

“When it comes to K-12 education,” Murdoch said at the time, “we see a $500 billion sector in the U.S. alone that is waiting desperately to be transformed by big breakthroughs that extend the reach of great teaching.”

Yet that piece of hateful flesh still lives on with a younger person's heart. I don't begrudge anyone staying alive as long as they can.

But he never seemed to care about other people's lives. And just because those lives weren't in his circle of friends and family, didn't mean they shouldn't have had the right to live as long as nature would have allowed.

It's a paradox that defies moral reasoning, but it does fit in with the life a successful predator, the ruthless acts committed.

The instinct to survive superceding all other considerations. Murdoch is about himself only and has conned millions into deadly ways of thinking.

JMHO.

Whether it's successful or not is an entirely different queston, but "a petition with the US broadcasting regulator, the Federal Communications Commission, that called for them to be denied on the grounds that the company did not have the requisite character to run a public service" is a lawsuit filed on a fact, and facts are things of beauty in a lawsuit.

Its broadcast division: $156 million, up only $23 million from a year earlier.

I've only been able to gather small amounts of information about Mr. Murdoch. It's obvious to anyone that is paying attention that he is a very bad person, but does anyone know where to find a truthful biography of Murdoch? Especially his time before going international- I've heard that he was involved in denying ancestral land and other recuperative measures to the aboriginal population in Australia. I've also heard rumors that he bribed politicians to get his American citizenship application approved quickly. Any DU members have proof to support these rumors? Murdoch is very secretive, which makes it difficult for interested parties to sort the rumors from the facts.

"The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it."

Here is the copy of my specific complaint to the FCC I have submitted to them tonight:

Bill O'Reilly has continually referred to "Obama Voters" as those who do not work and rely on public assistance for their living. On this program he states "A coalition of voters put the president back into the oval office. That coalition was non-traditional... (snip) which means it veered away from robust capitalism and self reliance." I find these remarks personally offensive to my entire family. None of us collect assistance, we all work for a living, and have long standing traditions. Yet he calls us all "pinheads" that want a large government that spends heavily on entitlements. This is simply non-factual yet presented again and again as "facts". He refers only to his loyal followers as "patriots" and all democrats as "pinheads" THIS MUST STOP. We have served our country proudly and he must stop this classification of all americans into such categories. I'm as patriotic as any republican, and sick of being referred to as "pinhead" because I am a democrat.
