Maggie Haberman is saving it for the book

That paragon of access journalism Maggie Haberman went on a TV talk show recently to brag about that access to Donal Trump. She obliquely admitted that she gets it because Trump knows he can use her.

The way he is, he will always engage with a reporter eventually if he sees some reason to, so he called me the other day," she admitted during an appearance on CNN's "King Charles".

She went on to tease about what she learned but admits she didn’t report on the really good stuff.

For the first time in a long time," Haberman said. "He wanted to talk about these cases and these trials. I was writing a story about how politics and the courts would converge again in January, a couple weeks ago. And he called to say that he wanted to attend all these trials, and to talk about his attacks on the judge in the civil case to talk about E. Jean Carroll; much of what I didn't report on."

Given her track record we can be pretty sure she’s saving the dirty details for her next book—after the election.

It's all a big game to them, as they smirk all the way to the bank. At least Republican politicians are honest about their lack of integrity.
