The Republican ads in central NC are making me sick.

As the March 5 primary election in NC approaches, Republican candidates are trying to out-Trump one another. They are running vile ads full of lies. I hope the DNC is paying attention because if this works, it will be the blueprint for the fall election.

The ads are all about the border. Yes, we're in North Carolina. We border South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. However, based on the imagery in these ads it would appear that we are under attack by an invading army. We are told that "Biden and Harris have done nothing" to secure the border.

One ad states that under Trump, "we had a secure border, a powerhouse economy, and only two genders."

Most of the Republican candidates - several of whom are blonde women - say that they are veterans and fought "the same people who are invading our border now."

The ads don't have any resemblance to reality but they are constant. We watch our local evening news and the ads run at every break, right after the other. It's a barrage of lies.

I haven't seen one Democratic ad.

The candidate may or may not be stupid enough to believe that hogwash, but the ads reach a lot of viewers.

We can concentrate on GOTV efforts for Dems and Independents.

I'm so glad we cut the cord years ago and don't have to listen to these lies.

The rest of the time we stream things.

I'm worried because these lies are so ubiquitous. It's a saturation campaign designed to give people the impression that something is wrong and only Republicans are willing to fix it.

Same here in Michigan, a Repug Senate candidate is running ads starting with, "Joe Biden is weak and because of his open border policy drugs are pouring into our cities and crime is out of control..."

The border is not open, it's more secure than ever actually, it's just we have to find better ways to process the people we are cacthing at the border.

They're running on this fear tactic. The actual facts aren't reflected in the ads.

The ads are for individual races but they're really for Trump.

The ads show grainy videos of people crossing a river, or walking as a group. You can't see them clearly.

Then this horrible woman's voice - she sounds like MTG - says "these are the same people I fought in Iraq." Say what? They are refugees, not terrorists.

My Sister, niece, and grand niece live in Asheville and plan to move to Connecticut when my grand niece graduates from high school.

I know leaving isn't for everyone.. or even close but my sister has a daughter in Connecticut, too.
