Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsNew York Times "full frontal assault" on Biden. They want Trump to win. They have made it very clear.
Let's accept it.
We're in a war on multiple fronts.
We are in a war against the Nazi pigs in the GOP.
We are at war with much of the mainstream press.
And yes, I know that I will get people defending the Times here, but I don't care.
They are wrong and I am right.
It's been going on for years.
Remember the Bush years and Judith Miller?
Ever read how the New York Times thought Hitler wasn't that bad?
@3vanSutton
The @nytimes
full frontal assault on Biden, based on the unverifiable claims of a partisan prosecutor, is one more example of how our elite media is in the tank for Trump. And it was all made inevitable when Merrick Garland handed the GOP this gift on a silver platter.

Today's NYT talks to experts who say Hur's claims about Biden's memory are hard to verify.
So does that mean NYT regrets yesterday's news analysis hyping those claims?
As I argue below, these analysis pieces are *choices.* There are better ones:

Maybe Biden can get in the good graces of US media by carrying out a violent insurrection, being owned by the Kremlin, and promising to be a dictator. Then just maybe he might be as young and coherent as Trump 🤦🏼♀️
Its surreal watching this amplification and excitement over Trump after what we have witnessed the past several years while seeing the nonstop attacks on Bidens age

Shame on you, Katie Tur on @MSNBC just now, for implying that special counsel felt he needed to add that memory crap in the report because maybe he saw something worse and felt the need to warn the country...are you freaking kidding me?

(3,603 posts)Ashley Parker and others are still salty that they weren't invited to Naomi Biden's wedding in 2022.
A private event.
They feel SO entitled.
They are willing to overturn democracy because they were butt-hurt about it.
@EarlOfEnough
📌The way political reporters (hacks) Maggie Haberman, Ashley Parker etc. are carrying on right now, Naomi Bidens refusal to allow them to cover her wedding looks pretty good right now.
📌And a question: Do these people report to anybody in their newsroom????

(28,281 posts)Special pains deserved by Maureen Dowd and Ross Douthat, whose current columns amount to nothing more than gleefully and prematurely excavating President Biden's grave. I keep thinking a once-great newspaper can't deteriorate any further---and the NYT opinion section keeps proving me wrong, on a regular basis. Disgusting and shameful.

(63,922 posts)NYT and I like it. Douthat and Dowd don't bother me. I can read their columns and brush off what I feel they have misrepresented. I like reading what they have to say on a given subject and can make up my mind as to their bias. I kinda know what they are going to say at the outset, but sometimes I see cracks in their arguments that are laughable. So I laugh and come on DU and get a lot of in depth articles and rebuttals. I enjoy the repartee.

And I really do want to make a difference and I feel the folks here at DU are trying just like me to make our world a better place (and I know that sounds trite).

(7,404 posts)Hur is also unqualified to conclude on the meaning of what he observed because his education and training is not in those areas. There need to be warnings that these claims by Hur cannot be independently verified and should be ignored. I would think that a lapse like this should interest the Bar Association.
Think. Again.
(8,636 posts)...should not have been accepted by garland. It was not a legitimate report on the question of criminality in Biden's handling of documents, which was the only mandate.
If garland needed to find another SC to do the required task with acceptable professionalism, so be it, start over.

(1,836 posts)were "out of control", "fake news", "the failing NYT", and quote- "the enemy of the American people".
It seems to me that the NYT has a very long history of focusing first on the incumbent, and second on the competition. They report primarily on the person who is currently sitting in office- and typically that reporting will be critical in nature. Editorials in particular will take an opposing POV persuasive stance. In the last election cycle, this benefitted Biden and harmed Trump. This election cycle will accomplish the opposite result. That said, I have not seen any warming toward Trump himself or an embrace of his policies from the NYT staff.
The questions raised by the NYT regarding Biden's age and health are not unreasonable imo although they do, no doubt, hurt his campaign. They're not questions asked in a vacuum though- they reflect the questions and concerns of their readers and Biden's constituents. Does this kind of coverage amplify those concerns and risk spreading fears about his age? Yes, yes of course. Is that frustrating if someone is either a Biden fan or a Trump opponent who favors another candidate? Yes, yes of course. Does this meet the test of "wanting Trump to win"? No, no of course not.
The NYT will continue to pursue and print articles that 1. reflect the common concerns of its readers 2. amplify public discussion about important topics, and 3. are sensational enough to sell papers. We're not always going to like what those articles say.

(17,197 posts)Exactly. Anyone who defends the NYT is not being objective. They have, as you point out, proven their bias over and over again. Judith Miller and how they treated Hillary are only two examples. Can one point to exceptions? Of course, but the overall tenor of their coverage is very anti Dem and has been for decades. I'm glad you are calling them out.

(644 posts)... is that one of Trump's favorite insults has finally been proven to be true: This really IS the "failing" New York Times. The "Paper of Record" is failing the American people in an obscene display of undeserved favoritism toward a third-string Hitler wannabe. We have cancelled our subscription. I wouldn't wipe my butt with the New York Times. And not because I'd get printing ink all over myself.
