FWIW my son in law and his die hard republican family

will not vote for President if Trump is the nominee. His parents live in Oklahoma. His brother in DC. Daughter and family here in NM.

I asked: what if RFK Jr runs as libertarian? And she laughed out loud.

She of course is in the Biden column.

I know it’s anecdotal. Sure gives me hope tough.

These people reject Trump.

Biden. I do get where you’re coming from though.

Oklahoma will go Trump.
DC and NM Biden.

These folks vote down ballot Republican. And we will not have political discussions. Maybe my daughter will influence them at some point.

I hope many other Republicans will just not show up.

That Republicans who saw Trump as a shining hope for their inner wish fulfillment look back at his failed performance while in office, and are bored with Trump.

Or at least not wanting a replay of Trump's dismal performance in his 4 years in the White House.

Even children who are promised something by their parents get tired of waiting when the promises don't materialise.

It's their nature. It's why they love him, and, more importantly, what he stands for. MAGA is an unfortunate mindset that predates it's being identified as "MAGA." And that won't change with them, even after Trump's in the dustbin of history, or the slammer.

Even tonight, MSNBC has mentioned this a couple of times. In some places, its even higher than that.

So have hope. Trump kills everything he touches and he's past his prime on the Presidency. He had a shot, failed, and he's not going to get another one.

who also voted for him twice so I feel your pain. Since we live in the same state, we joke about how our votes cancel each other’s out. My father votes blue so we are still coming out ahead, at least in my immediate family.

they're in Florida. They didn't last time. (They did in 16.). My dad pulled the lever for Biden last time and my mom abstained. This time I think they're both abstaining. They really don't like Biden. They really hate trump. And they're in their late 80s and feel like voting is up to us who will have to live with the results long term.

I don't know whether to be happy they're not voting R or be sad they won't vote for Biden, but I'll take it for now. (Getting them to move toward Biden would be easier than Trump, so there's still time.)

Hoping she doesn't vote for him in the general as well, but she's 81 and has voted in every election for the R or not voted at all on that line - like with Rick Scott.

The "World's greatest winner" suffered loss after loss, and like with football, after losing endlessly, people stop watching, and only diehard fans remain.

Or the team just leaves town. No Oakland or San Diego team(s) in particular. They move so often in these money grabs that one needs a scorecard to track moves.

A new grift awaits.

These billion dollar stadiums at taxpayer expense are the greatest grift outside of politics.

Hotels and golf courses are not funded this way.

And he did try to get in to football.

Biden. I would have thought by now that these so called 3rd party candidates would have gotten the drift that they are not going anywhere being an independent candidate. I suspect that Kennedy is running solely on his name recognition and nothing else. He exploded onto the scene and viola! He expected that Oh, a Kennedy, vote for him!! Yeah, right.

He doesn't come close to the charisma that either John or Robert Kennedy had before either of them was shot. I still grieve for them today.

In 2024 we're seeing less Trump crap on people's lawns and we're hearing from more ex-trumpophiles (being polite). I don't hear the word being used in the mainstream news (surprise) but this is real-time trump fatigue. My feeling is that the fatigue will only grow.

I don’t like these in laws’ politics but I credit them for being supportive of Covid vaccine when my daughter insisted (if they were to see their grandson) and other vaccine updates she required of all of us. And I credit them with using their morals and brains to discern that Trump is caca. I don’t believe my son in law ever voted MAGA. Moving him to Dem column? I’ll leave that to my daughter.

Yay for the kiddo that moved out! I hope he’s doing well in life.
