This year I saw Americans lining up to vote the way they line up to shop

That is a very good thing.

1. I'm thinking many lining up to shop don't vote or voted for Romney... There are

probably a few Dems in the crowd trying to find a good deal on electronics because its the only way to get the kids whatever new gizmo or phone they have been after.

Anyway, I wish people didn't have to line up and act like a mob crowd for discounted stuff.

The over commercialization of Black Friday and X-mas shopping has been more and more infuriating to me every year. I really don't like it. And most of its junk that someone will never use, re-gift, or take back for something they kinda want because they can't get cash from the "gift" purchased off of someone's credit card.

I normally try making something for everyone, but I'm not stretching myself crazy. I think I'll hit the local, small businesses to look for some unique gifts. Most people buy the shit they want anyway. Last year, was the only year I asked specifically for something and it was a gift from my mother in law and sister in law, and that was for a really nice set of pots and pans. My husband and I eloped, so for years we have used cheap sets. My sister in law ordered the set, on sale, from Macy's (no teflon), and they came with a free set of stainless steal bowl set. And they shipped direct to our home, for free. We absolutely love these pots and pans, and they will not have to be replaced for a very, very long time... Plus they have an excellent warranty. This year I think they are going to get me a juicer... We have this delusion that we are going to look awesome in our bathing suits in June for all the pics we take at the beach house we rented... LOL.. No matter what, I could def make some nutritious shakes for on the go.

Anyway, I really hate that every year its worse and worse... the season starts sooner and sooner... and instead of celebrating the end of the year, enjoying family and friends and parties, it becomes a pressure cooker to buy and go go go. Oh well. Guess that will never change.

4. I wish they didn't have to line up for voting as well

The truth is that as long as people are willing to line up to vote, I have no problem with them lining up to shop.

By the way I'm betting that many folks who lined up for electronics voted for the Democratic Party.

2. Different Lines, Different Reasons...

Notice that most of those lines are in fancy malls or downtown stores where those outside have the $100 or $1,000 to spend...and are fortunate to have nice homes, jobs and lifestyle.

Many who braved the long lines to vote were lower income...many who were being targeted by the corrupt party of the rich and powerful and being discouraged from exercising their legal right to vote.

I have a lot more respect and admiration for those who waited 8 hours to make sure their vote counted rather than someone sitting in front of Wally World for 8 hours waiting to buy a DVR from China.

5. True, but there are manypersons who lined up outside Walmart or Best Buy to get their flat screen TV

at a bargain price or to get a laptop for their college kid.
