"Who'd you rather have a beer with?"

Remember that one? I recall telling all my now-former buddies that George W Bush had no interest or intention of having a beer with THEM but it didn’t matter one whit.

The amazing thing about the Right in this country is that they will vote in a guy like Nixon, finally figure out that he’s a criminal like the rest of us suspected; a Bush,Jr. who was a dope and a member of the Lucky Sperm Club who lied about issues that wound up killing and maiming many of his own constituents, not to mention Iraqis; a Reagan who lied about a lot and was selling arms to Iran via a back channel AND lying about it, and there are never any post-administration reflections from them or their Party upon how things went terribly wrong, even by their stupid criteria.

But we get to hear about Monica Lewinsky and Oval Office blowjobs ad infinitum, Kennedy’s affairs with women, Roosevelt’s “wheelchair deception”, Obama’s sneaking of cigarettes and his birth certificate , Biden’s “Crime Family” which never existed, and Carter’s abortive catastrophic nightmare attempt to rescue the hostages in Iran (most likely sabotage from within to guarantee failure).

America is always poised to be proximal to the lowest common denominator- a beer huh? So that’s the best we can do…? One might ask: who woukd you rather ask as a neighbor to keep a close watch on your home when you leave for two weeks.

And you notice that I didn’t even mention once that cartoonish faux-James Bond villain running as a Republican for President this time.

The Press salivating over him, but if you read an objective account of his life, he is one dangerous motherfucker. On top of everything else, he is alleged to have participated in recommending himself for his own medals and receiving medals. Multiply for the same campaign.

it is a conspiracy theory that i had not heard of before. mentioned in the op.

maybe that is the danger of conspiracy theory : the theory is spread by the act of questioning.

MSM and it's GOP cohorts are, as you demonstrate, suppressing rule by the masses to serve their own interests. That is the story of America.

I will give them this: society hasn't much structure if fickle public opinion rules, but they could do better than failing to hold electeds accountable by deflecting the blame onto other events and operatives.

with Joe Biden.

Any interaction with Donald Trump is unthinkable. The Republican party has lost all claim to common decency.

I could sell everything I own and still not have enough money to get into Mar-a-Lago and buy a beer.

And even if I did, the Trump machine would fleece me out of my every dime before they let me out.

Trump is that guy who is always asking you for a favor and then screwing you over. Biden is the guy who is always doing you favors because he likes to help people.

7. Do you have any links about the sabotage?

I agree with the main thrust of your post. I'm wondering, though, what your assertion about mission sabotage comes from...

I've just done a search for it. I've found many pages about Reagan's diplomatic sabotage, but nothing that suggests there was sabotage from within the actual mission. I apologize if my search fu is weak.

The common explanations seem much simpler and likely correct:
1) New, inexperienced team
2) The mission was planned by people using lessons learned from fighting low tech insurgents in a jungle, not an actual modern military in the desert.
3) The equipment, especially the helicopters, were set up for a moist jungle environment, not a hot, windy, sandy environment.
4) An overabundance of caution. The mission required four helicopters. Eight were sent, three developed issues, leaving five. During mission planning it was decided that if there were less than six choppers operational the mission would be cancelled. Carter's military advisors advised him to cancel the mission, so he did.

I firmly believe that every Republicsn administration since Eisenhower has committed treasonous acts. While Reagan and his crooked cronies have much to answer for, actively sabotaging the rescue mission is not one of them.

10. Yes, I know about Reagan's efforts to delay the hostage release...

The "October Surprise". The Iranians were warned not to release the hostages until Reagan was in office. I also found a lot of information on it just now. Thank you for the link!

However, the OP stated that someone sabotaged the rescue mission, not the diplomatic mission. I've heard many stories of that evil administration, but this is the first I've heard that they had a hand in the failure of the rescue effort. I'm sceptical, but willing to be educated.

Which makes it an unfair question but I can see throwing back a few and talking with Biden even without being threatened with Agolf instead or even Dumbass Dubya.
