Student asks Obama about cynicism and gets a 10 minute rant that nails it

Just saw this and found it inspiring so...

"This is the greatest country on earth, but only because we have great citizens who are willing to invest their time and energy and effort to become informed on the issues, to argue about it in a respectful way, and to try to collectively solve the many challenges we face."

depend a lot on who is saying it - Obama himself or a commentator. When Obama says it, I would think of it more as self- deprecating humour but derogatory otherwise (at least that's the way it sounds to me).

I used the title of the video

Shame to distract from such a great rant with quibbling isn't it?

I would quibble with characterizing this as a "rant," even though he called it that himself, lol. But it was excellent.

I don't know what I love more about "No Drama Obama," his brilliant mind or his calm, soothing way of explaining hard stuff, but the combination is powerful!
