Trump attacked one judge's law clerk and another judge his daughter.
Then the judges finally did their jobs.
So they didn't care about the witnesses or the jury until it got personal.

The gag order doesn't restrict him from commenting on the judge or the judge's family. Merchan might decide to amend the gag order, but unless and until he does, there is nothing to stop Trump from commenting on the judge's daughter.

it is easy to see that any Judge is going to exclude himself from the order. That way, he cannot be accused of unfair gag orders. Of course, he'd like to rap tRump upside the head for his vile spewing forth of inciteful rhetoric, but I don't think he can. The gag order was requested by Bragg awhile back, apparently, and I think it was acted on immediately after the first nasty post. I see it as protecting the Jury. So, I don't think this Judge has let anybody down. We all knew it was coming, and approximately what form it would take. It's not a surprise.

The only thing I don't like is having to watch it graduated into successive fines, or something like that. You can bet that J. Merchan is keeping track. I think it is a huge mistake for a guy to badger the Judge in a criminal trial. J. Merchan holds the keys to his jail cell. He isn't going to suddenly back down and cower in front of Trump. That leaves Trump followers to do something truly dumb and/or dangerous. And then Trump gets to play innocent.

It's really odd to watch this rerun of prior trial tactics. Everyone is wise to it. Trump thinks he can threaten his way out of a jail cell. We will see.

...to cover jurors, attorneys, court personnel, & witnesses. The judge did not cover himself or his family.
So, loathsome as that post is (along with the idiot who posted it), I don't think it violates the gag Order.
Now, if he can't help himself & mentions prosecutors or witnesses, he would be violating it. Then, we would see if there were consequences worth issuing the order in the first place.

Immediately. $100,000 for each offense to be removed within 24 hours of the infraction. If he wants to appeal, let him wait like everybody else, until the actual trial has been concluded.
