He won't... But, I frankly think Ari has a bit of a misogynist streak himself, albeit better concealed. hlthe2b Mar 28 #2
He just did, and he isn't retracting but saying he meant it in the context that we are losing males. He maintained JohnSJ Mar 28 #5

Great, what did he say? And how did Carville respond? Ocelot II Mar 28 #4

Sounds kinda lame to me, when you consider what he actually said. Ocelot II Mar 28 #13
I imagine Ari will try to get both of them on his show to wrangle over it JohnSJ Mar 28 #16
it was pretty lame, and Carville tried to spin it back to defund the police, etc etc. I will try and find the transcript Celerity Mar 28 #17

He's rarely confrontational; he's more likely to go off on some tangent where he can quote rap lyrics. I will be pleasantly surprised if he brings it up.

'Too many interviews with professional women--especially other accomplished female lawyers--where he gets a bit too condescending for it all to be mere legal or technical disagreement. Yes, it could just be his increasingly large ego, but my "inner detector" sends me signals otherwise.

On edit: Looks like we were wrong. He did confront Carville about it. Go figure.

Ari has his faults but dissing women isn't one of them.

And yes, he not infrequently shows condescension to those he feels either "superior" to or conversely insecure. Of course, he has to feign the respect these women deserve--including expectations of the network and workplace. But, it does come out at times.

He's polished about it which may have convinced you otherwise, but I have had to deal with it in my professional work my entire life. Perhaps you are far younger or work in very different environs to be fortunate not to have experienced it. Tempered behavior based on the setting and what is expected does not mask all the behavior.

He bends over backward to be respectful to the men with whom he is directly countering--even if they are obvious liars and/or likely criminals.

He wasn't talking about his own personal viewpoint.
He was saying that there is a problem with male democrats and how they are seeing things at this time.

I have read Carville's interview several times.

The only thing he's guilty of is not describing what he meant more clearly in the interview. He can do better.

He's brusque. He's crude. He curses.
Sometimes that all gets in the way.

“A suspicion of mine is that there are too many preachy females” dominating the culture of his party. “‘Don’t drink beer. Don’t watch football. Don’t eat hamburgers. This is not good for you.’ The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. You’ve got to eat your peas.’

“If you listen to Democratic elites — NPR is my go-to place for that — the whole talk is about how women, and women of color, are going to decide this election. I’m like: ‘Well, 48 percent of the people that vote are males. Do you mind if they have some consideration?’”
