As participants in the failed coup and those who are planning to try it again read verdicts and watch men and women lose their law licenses or end up in prison, more than a few will decide they are not going down with Smelvis. Given that the SF Slobfather and the RNC have no money, they cannot even be bought. It is just not worth going down with the loser DonPoorleone and the rest of idiots.
Enjoy the unraveling, the implosion and the cannibalism.
The rest of 2024 is going to be delish.

Other Georgia Attorneys: Attorneys Ray Smith and Robert Cheeley were also indicted as part of the Georgia case against Trump and his allies, after Smith worked on behalf of the Trump campaign in Georgia and Cheeley pushed false claims of election fraud at a legislative hearing in the state.
Pending Complaints: Ethics complaints urging state bars and disciplinary boards to investigate attorneys have been filed and remain pending against multiple Trump lawyers who aided his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, including Mitchell and Boris Epshteyn, though court records show another complaint against Trump attorneys in New Mexico was dismissed.

Nixon's lawyers did much less than Ghiuliani, Eastman, and Clark

yet they did jail time. It isn't good enough for these traitors to just lose their law licenses. DOJ is afraid to appear partisan towards Magats.
Watergate Casualties and Convictions
In the aftermath of Richard Nixons resignation, Watergate continued to claim victims.
The final toll included:
one presidential resignation
one vice-presidential resignation although Agnews crimes were unrelated to Watergate
40 government officials indicted or jailed
H.R. Haldeman and John Erlichman (White House staff), resigned 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed
John Dean (White House legal counsel), sacked 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed
John Mitchell, Attorney-General and Chairman of the Committee to Re-elect the President (CREEP), jailed
Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy (ex-White House staff), planned the Watergate break-in, both jailed
Charles Colson, special counsel to the President, jailed
James McCord (Security Director of CREEP), jailed
Also, another Nixon lawyer in charge of ratfucking (his term) was jailed, Donald Segretti.

(21,360 posts)He is involved in drawing up the blueprint to weaponize the justice system under a 2nd Trump administration.
I am pretty sure one doesn't need a law license to become the Minister of Truth.
People need to be scared about what a 2nd Trump administration will be like, I am scared. That fear needs to lead, to be channeled to resolve to stop Trump from getting a second chance.
Listen to some of Michael Cohen's pod casts, he knows Trump. Trump will not be a dictator like Orban, he will be a dictator like Pinocet.

(21,360 posts)Benedict Donald will not, cannot, win a "fair election."
Did you watch Deadline White House yesterday when Frank Figliusi talked about how Russia is already bombarding social media with propaganda?
Then listen to Marc Elias talk about voter suppression, talk about how Magat election officials will fail to certify the vote in Democratic districts. This next election will be like nothing we have ever seen before, we need to over-perform at the ballot box to counter the "rat fucking."

All Mixed Up
(597 posts)...even if it's unfair and that's the electoral college.
He can win it. Just like he did in 2016.
All it takes is for Biden to lose enough support to third party candidates and Trump again pulls off a victory that's "fair".
Once again, I think a lot on the left are ignoring the real threat.
It's important to understand the lengths Trump will go to but Democrats control the governor seats in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arizona. The Vice President is the one who oversees the certification at congressional level.
I'm less concerned about that and more concerned we won't even get to that point because third party candidates will cut off just enough support that Trump wins Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan and therefore the election.

(70,516 posts)Those fund raising organizations dont work for free and you have to have some funds to
begin with and if seed money isnt there because it went to Lara Trump in order to pay
Donnys legal bills oh well. And BTW starting in mid April Trump will have to be sitting in
a court room for 4 out of 5 days a week (Monday through Friday) for 2 months straight and
he will be an albatross around the neck of the GOP in 2024.

(16,786 posts)That means little time for Golf and spewing traitorous shit at his Fascist rallies.
It will be interesting what few surrogates he has that could make up the millions that is the RNC coffers. The "Trump is being UNJUSTLY PROSECUTED in the Courts" spiel is getting old. Most of the rich donors are coming to the realization that fleeing a sinking ship or a runaway train, is the better way out. I see TS stock crashing as well and no golden parachutes for the Donald either.
Let alone the moniker CONVICTED FELON after one's name is FOREVER regardless if he appeals the verdict. A Lose-Lose scenario here.

. since he is out on bail he will have to show up everyday in court and that will not be a
good image for Trump and the Republican Party. Just think about Donny having to sit @
the defendants table @ the front of the court and or in the witness chair having to take the
5th a million times. Btw Bragg has each one of the felony charges linked to his trying to hide
his other crimes.
However 25% or more of Americans will still support Trump because he has given them the
right to use the word n****r, be mean to LGBT people, deny science and education, and just
being a shit in general.

(21,360 posts)but the other co-chair is the one to watch. When Michael Whatley was head of the RNC in N. Carolina he spent 75% of the money on legal expenses, filing law suits and he plans to do the same across the country.
Tune in to Deadline White House every Wednesday when Nicolle has Marc Elias on, he is ringing the alarm bells.
