criticizing Biden for having a fund raiser and acknowledging Trump because he was a the memorial service for the NYC police officer. It was from Fox News.
Now Im not going defend Biden nor will I commend Trump for his photo op. But the fund raiser was planned way in advance. Yet, Trump had a rally planned the very same night that his mother in law was buried.
So Fox News, it time to stop the pettiness of this story. And Im sure that Trump offered the something to the officers family so they invited him to the service? I have no proof, its Trumps way of fake courage and I would not doubt he did something like that?

(820 posts)It was such an affront. It was the type of thing my father would have railed against.
We ignored him. We had to deal with our grief.

(46,122 posts)Yesterday morning on NYC RW radio, the host was screaming and blathering about this very topic. How Trump was the only one who cared about this fallen hero. How Joe Biden was conveniently in NYC and couldn't be bothered to drive a few miles to pay his respects. Raising money was more important than doing the right thing.
What he didn't mention was that the officer's widow had invited Trump, not Biden, to the wake, and Trump accepted. And the fundraiser had been planned for a long time on the same day as the wake.
As a hypothetical, if Joe Biden had shown up without an invitation to the wake, he would have been criticized and roasted for making an otherwise solemn occasion into a political event. IOW, Biden would have been roasted no matter
whether he was at the wake or didn't go. They'd find something to condemn him.
