Who Really Benefits from Gridlock?

Even with the election of Obama, and some gains in the Senate, we all know gerrymandering has all but ensured a repub house for some time to come. (yes I know we can and must fight to regain, but it has turned into a Herculean task due to gerrymandering.).

The corporate state benefits most when the status quo is maintained. The armed civilian branch of the Federal government has long made it its mission to squelch social progressive movements such as the civil rights movement and Occupy to make sure things stay the same old same old.

So, even though the Democratic party won the election, did the corporate state really even need to win the presidency or even the Senate? As long as they can effectively keep progress stalled, haven't their goals been met?

Minister has refused to meet with Provincial Premiers unlike all previous PMs. Why? It is like you say. To stop any new agreements or resulting legislation from taking place. Cause all legislation is bad in the eyes of conservatives. They have the power to say “we will not meet or deal“, and then they have won. No matter what the public wants.

... but there are times when Canada looks like paradise to me. I live in Erie Pa., not far from Niagrea Falls...

3. Oh in Canada we are lucky and we know that. 60% of the people

here did not vote for the Conservative Harper but he won the election because we have many parties & a parliamentary system. The conservatives are trying to whittle our liberal pov. So far they have not gotten very far. But they are neocons so they try, try, try. It is nauseating.
