Arizona attorney general says near-total abortion ban can't be enforced until June 8

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona’s top attorney is offering guidance for medical providers with the near-total abortion ban set to take effect.

Attorney General Kris Mayes sent a letter to hospitals and clinics saying the 15-week abortion ban is still in place, and doctors can legally provide abortions to that point until June 8.

Still, there is confusion among doctors about the care they can provide someone in a medical emergency once the 1864 abortion ban becomes law.

“Now these doctors are asking questions like: ‘what am I supposed to do in that situation and am I going to be prosecuted for that?’” said Mayes.

They know the GOP is out for blood and are not going to take any chances.

I can see their reluctance to provide care that may become illegal after some arbitrary date imposed by a pack of morons.

I can think of at least one common condition of pregnancy, which could lead to an abortion as one of it’s potential outcomes. It could take some weeks to determine if it were required.
