7. I doubt that, but her purpose in bragging about it was to advertise that she's "strong" enough

to do unpleasant things that "have to be done" (even though the awful thing she did didn't have to be done at all - it was just for her convenience). She probably understands that Trump likes people who have no conscience and no qualms about doing harm if they think it's necessary. But there are also GOPers who love dogs and could be put off by this disgusting behavior.

And I fully understand rural life includes tough choices.

It’s just that republicans have invested so much of themselves in Maga, in Trump, in “toughness” that I feel strongly there will be at least a few dead dog stories.

Practically, the shelters for dogs are full. And dogs get euthanized every day. That’s not in question. It just—Maga seems to want to differentiate and define itself almost constantly, and all kinds of behavior gets incorporated into it.
