Wake Up Call

I had to record tonight’s debate due to being on call and needing to go see a patient. I was able to watch after I got back home. Here is my takeaway.

Donald Trump: All I saw out of him tonight was lie after lie after lie. He attempted to get away with not answering simple questions like will you accept the results of the election or give any direct answer for his actions or inaction on Jan 6th. He lied about his “accomplishments” during his occupancy of the White House. How is it that we have a convicted felon being able to run for President of the United States being able to debate THE President of the United States? I didn’t think I would see that in my lifetime.

President Biden: When he first walked out on stage, immediately I thought something was off. This was not the same man who just a few short months ago gave a powerful State of The Union Address. I could not help but wonder if he was sick, and when I heard him speak that seemed to confirm it, his voice was hoarse. His campaign has since said he had a cold. He was able to provide substance on answers however at times seemed to stumble over his words. He has had a stutter for years; however this seemed different. He did get in a few jabs on him, however even those were not as forceful as the Joe Biden I know. I know there is much angst over the performance last night, however I am not willing to give up on Joe Biden. This man has had a wealth of hard knocks all his life and he may get knocked down but he ALWAYS comes back swinging. This debate should not decide this election. President Obama did not have a great debate performance against Mitt Romney the 1st debate and he easily won re-election. That sole debate did not decide the election.

While I am disappointed about last nights debate, I refuse to throw in the towel and neither should you! Especially NOT over one debate. We need to keep that Convicted Felon out of the White House! While searching the net after the debate, I found this video that ignited the same fire and energy I had prior to watching it. I wanted to share it.

i don’t care hoe biden performed last night. i care about how he has performed in his 3.5 years as president. the republicans and trump want to create a government based on the denial of rights to citizens that are not male, white, heterosexual and wealthy. we had better pay attention or we will most assuredly pay the price.

As a medical professional I’d like to ask you this, does Joe look like he’s had a stroke? I’m not trying to be crude or trite here. My wife and I both thought it looked like the left side of his face was indicative of a stroke.

Had an antihistamine for his cold and though a straight antihistamine doesn't necessarily make you drowsy, in my experience, it can make you a little slow in motion.

I didn't think he looked like he had a stroke. He did look like he had a cold which can make you look worse than you feel.

It wasn’t what I had hoped for. But, Biden can and will bounce back. Trump is pathetic egotistical moron who lies every time he utters a word. Let’s face the fact that Trump was overbearing and is cruel person who knows who he is and he is a vindictive bully. Biden was still making his points and hits. Even Michael Jordan had bad days, but he still scored when he needed too.

he completely blew by the "declare no violent response" commitment. I knew he wouldn't say that and CNN didn't even try to double back to it. Disgusting!

Expect much violence when he loses!

Tapper and Bash did an enormous disservice to our country with their journalistic malpractice. I have lost all respect for both of them.

Joe had a bad night. That doesn’t negate the long list if great things he’s done for our country, nor his ability to lead us.

Trump is still a bitter, lying con artist, hell-bent on revenge, who will destroy our democracy, and drag us all down into fascism.

And what I saw was good work. Because the fact checking is already done, my hope is that journalists will avail themselves of it for their articles on the debate. I did a few searches for headlines and almost all mentioned trump’s lies, yay.

We should all keep checking this throughout the day. Let’s all hammer home that the story is the lies. Email the editors if they don’t call it out!

A 12-year old could have replaced Tapper and Bash, and just read questions like they did. As moderators, they were completely superfluous.

If only those that could benefit most would hear it. Unfortunately, they might not be able to absorb it, learn from it or be swayed by it, having fallen so deeply into the MAGA abyss.

I'm feeling much the same way. Not ready to give up on Joe. But he does need to show that last night's debate performance was a blip. I'm waiting for the White House's explanation of what happened. Exhaustion? Temporary illness? Bad reaction to a medication?
I went to bed thinking that maybe someone had slipped a drug into something Joe ate or drank to tank his debate! Is that too crazy to contemplate? Is it?

I will vote for whoever is the Democratic nominee if Joe listens to all the media noise and drops out. It’s quite late to be changing horses in this race, and I have every faith that Joe is capable of being president and continuing to do an excellent job. He needs some media clips soon of him speaking at rallies where he has been giving great speeches.

Sounds like it was a good thing I didn't as apparently Joe didn't do so well.
Well, it's only June and the 1st debate so there's that but I said from the first that Joe should have refused to debate a convicted criminal period and give him any oxygen whatsoever.

But he did and even started it all by challenging the orange idiot if I remember right. Now Joe has to put in a stellar performance the next time or we're probably sunk because it's the Independents that will determine the outcome of the election and I doubt they were impressed.

And the Trump Humpers will never give up on it. It’s just a shame that we’re going to have to listen to weeks, if not months, of how feeble Joe is, and should he step down.

TSF could shoot someone dead in the middle of 5th Ave., and I would still vote for the person he shot over him.

He is not the man he was even 4 years ago. None of that excuses whatever degree of dementia that Trump has. Neither does any of this excuse Biden nor the people around him being honest about his mental condition because they all knew. Sadly, he was convinced that he, and only he could beat Trump because he did it one time before and now he has really left it until too late to do anything about it. So we've got to dance with the one who brought us and between Biden and Trump I'll take Biden all day.
But I reckon one war or another the day after election day we will remember and think about the day of the first presidential debate between Biden and Trump and what happened as a result of it.
