(8,268 posts)Flynn is a true criminal and IMO should have been shot at dawn for his grifting Turkey for cash.

(3,023 posts)I'm pretty sure tcf will pick whoever he thinks will boost his chances while being totally obedient to him. Not Flynn's profile.

(878 posts)The "real" ones (according to CNN) are Marco Rubio, J.D. Vance, and Doug Burgum.
Found the article: https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/03/politics/rubio-vance-trump-vice-president/index.html

(24 posts)Republicans like to think Virginia is in play and Youngkin is going to be out of office in a year as Virginia doesn't allow for consecutive terms as governor.
Although it could be Burgum. Burgum is a billionaire and Trump needs his war chest. Won't be Rubio. That would open up too many credible legal challenges should the ticket win and Trump isn't going to ditch Mar-a-Lago as his primary residence with all of the various lawsuits that he's facing.
Maybe Vance. That would please his base but Trump has already secured their votes. And it would cost a senator. Sure, Ohio is a red state but so was Alabama.
I expect Trump's VP pick will be an effort to reach out to those voters he hasn't yet sealed the deal with. His base won't be thrilled but they won't change their votes and Trump knows this.
Wildcard bet #2: Nikki Haley.

(8,268 posts)Vance would do it because he shares the I wanna be a hero mentality found among Magas.

(5,410 posts)but "filed" where??
In nearly 50 years of watching presidential elections, I've never heard about anyone "filing" their VP choice with anyone--- so I doubt the validity of whatever it is you have read....

(791 posts)I predict that the VP pick will be either Doug Burgum or JD Vance, Burgum for the cash or JD Vance for the youth, Vance will just be 40 by election day.
