Chris Hayes is trending on twitter

I guess it's because of his criticism of Biden for mangling words. People are pointing out that Chris is always tripping over his tongue and once called Bernie Sanders "Bernie Sandwiches."

Got me to thinking about how these talking heads should be head and shoulders above everyone else in speaking skills considering their salaries, but most of them couldn't meet the standards they are unilaterally setting for 81 year old Joe Biden. No one who talks a lot is mistake free, but Chris especially is not.
And he is relatively young (40's) and a professional speaker. I think he needs to look in the mirror and think about what's really important here.

his own kids names when tired. My Mom would usually accidentally start by calling my sister and I, by one of our cousins' names, sometimes she'd even call us by our dog's name, and often end with "Whatever the hell your name is, get over here." She was in her 40's when that started.

It happens to everyone

We immigrated from Hungary, she was Welsh. No idea how my parents met. When we arrived, we Americanised our names, shortening them considerably from the typical Hungarian long string of family names. She had trouble shifting mental gears sometimes when calling us. I always assumed I was in trouble when she started out with "Karel Radu... oh hell!"

Valleyspeak originated in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles County). Southern California

Maddow is from Castro Valley (born there and graduated from Castro Valley High School and Stanford University, also in the Bay Area) which is SE of Oakland (the Bay area, it is in Alameda County, as you obviously know, as you have lived there. I am adding this for other readers.). Northern California

that do side by side split screen comparisons of Biden giving good speeches next to Trump rambling. They also put together a montage of Trump gaffes.

Maybe they should do a montage of media talking heads gaffes. Include several persons do it does not look like an attack on any single one of them. But, they can give extra attention to the ones who are criticizing Biden the most.

This is a pet peeve of mine.

We are conditioned to assume perfect speech because of tv and movies.

No! Real life does not work that way.

If you received a transcription of your verbal speech over a 24 hour period, you would be appalled.

Filler sounds, poor grammar, spoonerisms, gaffs, whatever. We all do them. Constantly!

Name replacements? OMG! Just ask a parent of multiple children how many times they used the wrong name. Did anyone call their elementary school teacher "mom" once or twice? When some asshole is consuming your thoughts (like an opponent or a rival), you are going to more readily bring their name to your lips.

I am so sick of people not recognizing reality!
