(689 posts)Who really cares what a retiring conservative thinks? I believe tomorrow was going to be the worst day so far for defections and the Biden campaign knew it. They wanted to save him from going through that and I think that's right given what he has done.

(37,015 posts)Even with his last COVID "experience" he had a public presence and was in the WH. He consulted with his most reliable advisors and took them into consideration--his nuclear family.
Probably also took into account reports that we'll never see from his close WH/campaign advisors on fund raising, poll results in battleground states, and anything else that they deemed important and acceptable to be said.
He's reasoned through it, didn't do a quick knee jerk.
